Following confirmation from the HDSB that teacher, Kayla Lemieux, had been suspended from active classroom assignment, parents were invited to complete an accountability survey. The survey is designed to help understand the parent communities' perspective on the impact and handling of the situation by administrators.
Parents are become increasingly frustrated with the misguided priorities of Ontario's public schools. The goal of academic excellence is increasingly being replaced by values-based education. Many parents have concerns about the appropriateness of this material for their children.
Ontario's public education system is not prioritizing the academic interests of students. In many school boards across Ontario, academic performance is failing to meet the Provinces' own minimum standard of achievement.

April 12, 2023: Today, Students First Ontario issued a media release presenting the results of a recent survey of parents and their views on the way the K. Lemieux issue has been managed by the HDSB. The findings indicate that parents were not satisfied with the handling of the situation, or that the issue has been adequately resolved. Parents' trust and confidence in the Board has been eroded. A series of steps have been proposed for the HDSB to pursue to help restore the Board's relationship with HDSB families.
